How to Create a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)
A WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) is required to use the WhatsApp Business Platform (API) with Saysimple. It allows your business to send and receive WhatsApp messages, collaborate with multiple agents, automate conversations, and integrate WhatsApp with your existing business systems.
This guide explains how to create a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) and connect it to Saysimple using Meta's official onboarding process.
What Is a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)?
A WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) is the account that connects your business to the WhatsApp Business Platform (API).
A WABA is managed through Meta Business Manager and allows your business to:
Use WhatsApp with multiple users.
Send and receive customer conversations.
Create and send approved WhatsApp templates.
Automate customer communication.
Integrate WhatsApp with CRM, help desk, and business applications.
Monitor messaging quality and account performance.
Note: A WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) is different from the WhatsApp Business App. The app is designed for small businesses using a single device, while the WhatsApp Business Platform supports teams, automation, and integrations.
Before You Begin
Before creating your WhatsApp Business Account, make sure you have:
A Meta Business Portfolio (formerly Meta Business Manager).
Administrator access to your Meta Business Portfolio.
A business phone number that can receive an SMS or voice verification code.
A Facebook account with permission to create business assets.
Your business information, including your company name and business category.
Important: If your phone number is currently registered with the WhatsApp Messenger app or the WhatsApp Business app, it cannot be used with the WhatsApp Business Platform until it has been migrated.
